A Ship’s Opera

As the centrepiece of the 2013 Mayor’s Thames Festival, 1513: A Ships’ Opera  brought back the lost voices of the Thames that called out across the river. The water-borne ships’ opera was staged by Richard Wilson and Cultureship Directors and artists, Zatorski + Zatorski.

The armada of historic vessels comprised of Ships steam Whistles, Hooters, Sirens, foghorns Trinity bells and the HMS Belfast cannons.

I have had the pleasure of being part of the team from Wilton’s Music Hall, in charge of lighting up the tugboats during the live performance, using huge search lights from the Suez Canal.
